Wine Cellar & Home Office

This dual-purpose space needed to work as both a wine cellar and a home office, two very different functions living in one room without feeling divided against itself.

The design centers on custom metal wine racks, fabricated to hold the collection as a real architectural feature rather than an afterthought bolted to a wall. Alongside them, two-toned cabinetry, a mix of painted and stained finishes, gives the room depth and visual interest while tying the wine storage and workspace together as one cohesive design.

Knotty alder cabinetry brings warmth and natural character to the room, its texture and grain playing well against the cleaner lines of the painted elements. Rustic shiplap on the walls reinforces that same warmth, grounding the space with a material story that carries from floor to ceiling.

Custom lighting was layered in to highlight the wine racks, support the workspace, and set the overall mood, proof that even a functional detail like lighting can be part of the design intent rather than an afterthought.

The result is a room that does two jobs well: a place to work, and a place to enjoy the collection, without either function feeling like it's competing with the other.
